The Psychology Department will host a presentation and demo for Roundtable AI on May 6 at 3:30 PM in Room 050, showcasing a new tool designed to improve data quality in online studies.

Proof of Human: the Invisible Turing Test for the Internet Alan Turing's 1950 substitute for "can machines think?" — indistinguishability over text — has now been saturated by language models. The question he punted is back: what is the signature of being human and how do we measure it? Roundtable’s Proof of Human uses Marr’s 3 levels of analysis to map computational, algorithmic, and implementation differences to distinguish between humans and AI. Using survey data quality as a current flagship problem, we demonstrate how to leverage question-answer analysis (computational), cognitive process tracing (algorithmic), and behavioral biometrics (implementational) to ensure your research participants are human.
